What life may hold,
What answers I seek,
When the outlook is cold,
When the outlook is bleak,
I turn to you,
I turn to myself,
And I know that there’s hope,
I know that there’s someone there
to catch me when I fall,
whether I’m weak and I crawl,
or if I’m strong again and can walk tall.
I try to smile but it will not come
I try to laugh but instead I cry
I hope for love but all all I get is pain
I want to be happy, but I cannot be all the same.
I need to feel loved
Not forgotten
Someday I hope to find peace
Someday I will find me.
What would life be if we were all the same?
It would no longer be a childish game.
We wouldn’t be dancing with fairies, or playing with fire,
And our feelings for each other would never tire.
Narcissism would be the most common of stories,
And we would all share the same former glories.
Life would be futile and trouble-free,
But we all know that that will never be.
Life’s too short to drink cheap wine,
Life’s too short to take your time,
Life’s too short not to say you care,
Life’s too short not to share.
Life’s too short to look a mess,
Life’s too short to get stressed,
Life’s too short to cry and cry,
Life’s too short to ask why.
Life’s too short to sit and ponder,
Life’s too short to wait and wander,
Life’s too short to care so much,
Life’s too short to give a fuck!
You can’t protect your heart forever,
Believe me girl; it’s now or never,
Trust your heart and don’t deny
the love you can see in his eye,
whenever he sees you and looks your way,
don’t wait for that thing to hear him say,
Jump the gun, do it yourself,
You won’t become another name on The Shelf,
Just believe you can and you will,
Don’t just sit there on the windowsill,
hoping and praying won’t get you anywhere,
Take a chance: if you dare.
